\n An eyewitness told the Courier that there was \u201cdefinitely a big fire\u201d in the Newbigging area of Musselburgh with Pinkie Road and Inveresk Road closed off to pedestrian and vehicular traffic.\n<\/p>\n
\n Several fire engines were in attendance at the scene, with police also present and the area was cordoned off.\n<\/p>\n
\n As of approximately 4:55pm Newbigging area, including Pinkie Road and Inveresk Road re-opened to traffic.\n<\/p>\n
\n The eyewitness said that four or five fire engines were on site and that emergency services had been there at about 2.15pm this afternoon.\n<\/p>\n
\n There is no word at this stage on the cause of the incident.\n<\/p>\n
\n A spokesperson from Police Scotland said: “Newbigging in Musselburgh has reopened following a report of a fire at a property around 2.25pm on Tuesday, 30 December, 2025.”\n<\/p>\n
\n A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at around 2.16pm on Tuesday, 30 December to reports of a dwelling fire in Musselburgh.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Operations Control mobilised four appliances to the town’s Newbigging, where crews worked to extinguish the fire.\n<\/p>\n
\n “One appliance remains on scene with firefighters working to make the area safe.\n<\/p>\n
