(AA Photo)\n<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Not just a training aircraft agreement&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Gorgun emphasized that the deal goes far beyond aircraft sales, saying: &#8220;This agreement is not just a training aircraft agreement. Together with this training aircraft, it is a contract containing many innovations as a package\u2014ground systems, simulation systems, maintenance and sustainment systems, and a cooperation model.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This agreement is a high-value-added, multi-dimensional defense industry export package that includes the export of Hurjet, an integrated training architecture covering advanced combat pilot training, ground-based simulation and training systems, maintenance and sustainment infrastructure, and long-term operational support elements,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Spanishized&#8217; version in the package<\/p>\n<p>Gorgun said the deal includes provisions for a customized Spanish version of the aircraft, adding, &#8220;Throughout the process, the &#8216;Spanishized&#8217; version, which will be updated according to Spain&#8217;s own needs, will also be included in this package.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This customization, combined with Spain&#8217;s advanced aviation sector capabilities, creates opportunities for future joint ventures targeting other markets.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"newspicture\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1280\/853;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/1767180314_992_hurjet-deal-with-spain-opens-door-to-third-country-exports-joint-development-defense-3212205_2025123.jpeg\" alt=\"A view of Hurjet aircraft at the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) facilities in Ankara, T\u00fcrkiye, on December 30, 2025. (AA Photo)\n<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Win-win model&#8217; with NATO ally<\/p>\n<p>Gorgun stressed the importance of mutual benefits in defense exports, noting: &#8220;When we discuss defense industry exports with friendly and allied countries and countries we cooperate with, we attach importance to creating a win-win model. We mutually consider both technological and economic gains. This also inspires confidence in our counterparts.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are happy and at peace to be exporting such a high-technology product to our ally Spain, a European Union and NATO member country,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>He thanked the Spanish Ministry of National Defense and Air Force Command for choosing the aircraft. (AA Photo)\n<\/p>\n<p>Opens doors for subcontractors<\/p>\n<p>Gorgun highlighted that such projects also benefit Turkish subcontractors, noting, &#8220;With such projects, the doors are also opened for subcontractor companies that support platforms.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He noted that T\u00fcrkiye&#8217;s defense industry now produces 230 different products exported to approximately 185 countries, with about 200 companies contributing to the Hurjet program.<\/p>\n<p>Gorgun revealed that the Hurjet deal was the &#8220;bigger agreement&#8221; he had previewed previously.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;At a meeting in Istanbul last week, while sharing a big agreement made by our Aselsan with Poland, I said we would announce an even bigger agreement within a week. This was the Hurjet agreement. (AA Photo)\n<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Turkish engineering&#8217;s signature cast into sky&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacir congratulated TAI on the historic export.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our national jet aircraft, Hurjet, is being exported to Spain. With the national technology initiative we are pursuing under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdo\u011fan, Turkish engineering&#8217;s signature is being cast into the sky,&#8221; Kacir said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I sincerely congratulate TAI engineers, technicians, all employees and managers, and everyone who contributed to this historic achievement. This pride belongs to the Turkish nation!&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement covers 30 Hurjet aircraft worth \u20ac2.6 billion ($3.04 billion), making it one of the highest-value aviation exports in T\u00fcrkiye&#8217;s defense industry history.<\/p>\n<p>Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2028.
