Some state pensioners are being reminded they will receive early payments on Friday, May 2.<\/p>\n
Certain people will wake up to see the unusual payments landing into their bank accounts.<\/p>\n
The reason for the change is the early May bank holiday.<\/p>\n
READ MORE: Nationwide, Lloyds, NatWest and Santander customers urged to ‘move money now’<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Get our best money saving tips and hacks by signing up to our newsletter<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n The DWP<\/a> does not generally process payments on bank holidays, and will instead send out money earlier.<\/p>\n Those who are due to get their next payment on Monday, May 5 can instead expect to receive it on Friday, May 2 – the nearest working day before.<\/p>\n This could include Brits who get the state pension as well as DWP benefits like Universal Credit<\/a>, Personal Independence Payments (PIP) and Employment and Support Allowance.<\/p>\n It comes ahead of another bank holiday towards the end of May when the same thing will happen again.<\/p>\n Households whose payments are not due to fall on Monday will not be affected, and will get their cash on the normal days.<\/p>\n The DWP said: \u201cBenefits are usually paid straight into your bank, building society or credit union account.<\/p>\n “If your payment date is on a weekend or a bank holiday you\u2019ll usually be paid on the working day before.\u201d<\/p>\n
