Moscow has consistently denied harboring aggressive plans toward its Western neighbors.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">In a piece on Tuesday, the media outlet reported that the assessment was contained in the Operational Plan for Germany (OPLAN), which presumably lays out the steps the country would take in the event of war. According to Politico, the confidential document says that hybrid attacks\u00a0\u201ccan fundamentally serve to prepare a military confrontation,\u201d\u00a0as distinct from being mere background operations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">The Bundeswehr\u2019s blueprint reportedly describes Germany\u2019s role in a hypothetical conflict as that of NATO\u2019s logistical hub and transit corridor. In light of this, it\u2019s likely that Germany would quickly become a\u00a0\u201cprioritized target of conventional attacks with long-range weapon systems,\u201d it concludes, as reported by Politico.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">Earlier this month, Berlin accused Moscow of conducting\u00a0\u201chybrid attacks\u201d\u00a0during this year\u2019s federal election and several months later against a German flight controller.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">The Russian embassy in Berlin dismissed the allegations as\u00a0\u201cunsubstantiated, unfounded and absurd.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">Last month, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius told Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung that a Russian attack on NATO is\u00a0\u201cconceivable as early as 2028, and some even believe we have already had our last summer of peace.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">Responding to Pistorius\u2019s remark, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that\u00a0\u201cRussia does not advocate any confrontation with NATO.
