(WKYT) &#8211; A judge temporarily blocked London ordinances that could cut city jobs in the new year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">London Mayor Randall Weddle first raised the alarm during a council meeting on December 16. He said the council passing an amended budget would force him to fire dozens of city employees including the entire fire department.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Since then, 86 employees filed a wrongful termination lawsuit against the city.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"link | text-reset d-block h-100 w-100\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wkyt.com\/page\/wkyt-apps-for-ios-and-android-devices\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_self\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"WKYT Streaming Apps\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/MEPHTWNVMREWLEQQWWFJM27ZMA.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"199\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">In the orderissued on Wednesday, Laurel Circuit Judge Samuel Spalding said could negatively impact public safety, before a hearing could happen. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The judge scheduled a hearing for next Monday morning, that\u2019s when they\u2019ll decide if this order will stay in place.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2025 WKYT.
