A man was rushed to hospital after the incident in Gorton<\/p>\n

Residents have spoken of their shock after a fight broke out between two ‘neighbours’ in the middle of the street. Police were called at 11.15am today, May 1, to reports of a disturbance on Odette Street in Gorton<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Officers attended, and a man and a woman were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage<\/a>, possession of an offensive weapon and common assault.<\/p>\n

A section of the road remains cordoned off, with reports of blood visible on the porch of a property.<\/p>\n

CSI and a heavy police presence have been spotted in the area as detectives carry out work.<\/p>\n

Images from the scene showed a white van parked up with the door thrown open, with personal objects strewn across the ground. It also showed a broken window of a door of one of the properties.<\/p>\n

One resident, Naseeba Ahmed, said: “It was around 11.30am that it happened, I was at home and just heard screaming and someone running past the house. Then the police came. I’m not really sure what it was about.”<\/p>\n

Another said it appeared to be \u2018a fight or a brawl\u2019 between two neighbours.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne wanted to get inside the other’s house so he was banging on the door and he smashed through it with his hand. He got a bad cut on his arm and there was blood everywhere.”<\/p>\n

One person said one of the men \u2018had blood all over him\u2019, and confirmed it was a \u2018dispute\u2019.<\/p>\n

“One of them said something had been stolen from his car and he asked me if I had any footage but my Ring doorbell was offline,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe knocked on the other door but got no answer so started kicking and punching, then he punched through the glass. There was a lot of blood – it was all over him.<\/p>\n

\u201cThen the police and ambulance came. There’s been problems on this street before, arguments and littering.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe just want the street clean. We want to sell our house as soon as we can – we want out of here.”<\/p>\n

Greater Manchester Police<\/a> have since confirmed that a man, in his 20s, was rushed to hospital with serious \u2018but not life-threatening\u2019 injuries.<\/p>\n

Both suspects remain in custody for questioning.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson said: \u201cAt around 11.15am this morning (Thursday 1 May 2025), we were called to reports of a disturbance on Odette Street in Gorton, north Manchester.<\/p>\n

\u201cOfficers attended the scene and arrested two people \u2013 a man and a woman \u2013 on suspicion of criminal damage, possession of offensive weapon and common assault.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey both remain in custody for questioning.<\/p>\n

\u201cA man in his 20s has been taken to hospital with injuries that are described as serious but not life-threatening. He remains in hospital.\u201d<\/p>\n
