Residents and parents have been informed of proposed to address road safety concerns around Chilcote School in Hall Green\"ChilcoteChilcote School in Birmingham and the surrounding roads(Image: Google Maps)<\/p>\n

Residents and parents are being urged to have their say on proposals to improve safety around a Birmingham school.<\/p>\n

A raft of changes including the installation of bollards and the introduction of a 20mph zone are being mooted around Chilcote Primary School in Hall Green<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The project forms part of Birmingham<\/a> \u2019s broader Transport Plan, which aims to prioritise people over cars, and would be funded by the Local Improvement Budget \u2013 Transportation and Highways Fund.<\/p>\n

The proposals include:<\/p>\n

20mph speed limit on the following roads:<\/p>\n

\u2981Baldwins Lane (between Gracemere Crescent eastern junction and Primrose Lane)<\/p>\n

\u2981Barton Lodge Road (between Baldwins Lane and Scribers Lane)<\/p>\n

\u2981Scribers Lane (between Baldwins Lane and Barton Lodge Road)<\/p>\n

\u2981Hilton Avenue, Morris Field Croft, Chilcote Close and Barton Croft<\/p>\n

Installation of bollards on:<\/p>\n

\u2981Scribers Lane (on the pavement at its junction with Kedleston Road)<\/p>\n

\u2981Baldwins Lane (on the pavement at its junction with Barton Lodge Road)<\/p>\n

Installation of pedestrian refuges (to improve pedestrian crossing movements) on:<\/p>\n

\u2981Barton Lodge Road (at its junction with Scribers Lane)<\/p>\n

\u2981Barton Lodge Road (at its junction with Baldwins Lane)<\/p>\n

\u2981Acheson Road (at its junction with Baldwins Lane)<\/p>\n

\u2981Kedleston Road (at its junction with Scribers Lane)<\/p>\n

Installation of refuges on:<\/p>\n

\u2981Baldwins Lane (outside property no. 265)<\/p>\n

Installation of speed cushions on:<\/p>\n

\u2981Baldwins Lane (on the approaches to the school access)<\/p>\n

Installation of double yellow lines (to restrict parking) on:<\/p>\n

\u2981Scribers Lane (at its junction with Kedleston Road)<\/p>\n

\u2981Scribers Lane (between the junctions of Tixall Road and Barton Lodge Road)<\/p>\n

\u2981Scribers Lane (at its junction with Barton Lodge Road to outside of property no.166, existing \u2018H\u2019 marking to be removed)<\/p>\n

\u2981Baldwins Lane (outside properties no.316 \u2013 320)<\/p>\n

Installation of additional school warning signs on:<\/p>\n

\u2981Scribers Lane (adjacent to the existing school crossing patrol site)<\/p>\n

\u2981Kedleston Road (opposite property no.115)<\/p>\n

The closing date for responses is Monday 5 January 2026.<\/p>\n

The council’s Tranbsport Projects said in a letter: “After the consultation closes, we will review all responses and make any necessary changes to the scheme.<\/p>\n
