{"id":66609,"date":"2025-05-01T20:44:13","date_gmt":"2025-05-01T20:44:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/66609\/"},"modified":"2025-05-01T20:44:13","modified_gmt":"2025-05-01T20:44:13","slug":"route-revealed-for-dalby-forest-stage-of-the-lloyds-tour-of-britain-women","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/66609\/","title":{"rendered":"Route Revealed for Dalby Forest Stage of the Lloyds Tour of Britain Women"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>                <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aiir-c-news-figure__image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/6813c35ec12e6.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"aiir-c-news-article__abstract\">\n            The routes for the opening two stages of the Lloyds Tour of Britain Women that will see the world\u2019s top procyclists racing through communities across North Yorkshire and the Tees Valley this June, have today been announced.\n        <\/p>\n<p>The opening stage of the UCI Women\u2019s WorldTour race on Thursday 5 June will see riders crossing the North York Moors National Park, from Forestry England Dalby to Redcar, via two Queen of the Mountains climbs in the heart of the North York Moors, at Blakey Ridge and Langburn\u2019s Bank above Castleton, before a flat finish alongside Zetland Park in Redcar.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/6813c2a374bdf.png\" style=\"\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Stage one on Thursday 5 June will start at 11:30 from outside Forestry England\u2019s visitor centre in Dalby Forest, covering 81.5 kilometres (50.7 miles) across the North York Moors National Park and Tees Valley, before the finish on Coast Road alongside Zetland Park in Redcar.<\/p>\n<p>Along the way the stage will pass through Pickering, Hutton-le-Hole, Castleton, and Great Ayton, before crossing into the Tees Valley and Redcar &amp; Cleveland, where the route will head through Guisborough (via Park Lane and Bolckow Street) and Marske-by-the-Sea, on its way to the flat, seaside finish, just after 2pm.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/6813c2a366b9c.png\" style=\"\"\/><\/p>\n<p>During the stage riders will contest two categorised Queen of the Mountains climbs, the first the long, six kilometre climb up to Blakey Ridge in the North York Moors National Park from Hutton-le-Hole, averaging 4%.<\/p>\n<p>Andy Widdowson, Head of Recreation and Visitor Experience at Forestry England said;\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe route chosen by the team at British Cycling showcases the very best of forest, moor and sea that the North York Moors has to offer. With Forestry England Dalby having a connection with the cycling community in the heart of this landscape, we are very proud host the start of this fantastic event.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Tom Hind CEO of the North York Moors National Park Authority, commented;\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cCycling is a fantastic way to experience the National Park particularly with our extensive network of cycling-friendly businesses and accommodation.
