The spectacle ended with a Skye duo Valtos version New Year&#8217;s Eve classic &#8220;Auld Lang Syne&#8221;, while a saltire was projected onto Castle Rock.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The event welcomed visitors from across the globe.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/0_Revellers-from-across-Britain-bring-in-the-New-Year.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>The Pernell family from California celebrate Hogmanay 2026 in Edinburgh.(Image: Katielee Arrowsmith \/ SWNS)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Ann Bracefield, a teacher from Wellington, New Zealand, was among the street partygoers. The 55-year-old said she had come to Edinburgh for the event. &#8220;It&#8217;s where to be for New Years,&#8221; she told the PA.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">She said she has a friend who tried to get in last year from New Zealand but missed the event because it was cancelled.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Elias Branting, 24, who travelled from Sweden for the event.
