{"id":666957,"date":"2026-01-01T14:11:10","date_gmt":"2026-01-01T14:11:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/666957\/"},"modified":"2026-01-01T14:11:10","modified_gmt":"2026-01-01T14:11:10","slug":"first-cardiff-homes-connected-to-steam-powered-heat-network","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/666957\/","title":{"rendered":"First Cardiff homes connected to steam-powered heat network"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Cardiff and Vale College recently became the first building to receive heat from the network. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Over coming weeks, other buildings in Cardiff Bay, including Wales Millennium Centre, Butetown Hub, Nelson House, Tresillian House, Ty Hywel and the Senedd will also be connected.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Although the initial heat source is Viridor&#8217;s Energy Recovery Facility, the network is designed to be &#8220;heat source neutral&#8221;. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">This means that, in future, it could potentially be connected to alternative or additional heat sources such as the groundwater or deep geothermal heat that exists beneath Cardiff&#8217;s streets.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Cardiff and Vale College recently became the first building to receive heat from the network.
