A Good Morning Britain<\/a> presenter has shared a health<\/a> update after being admitted to hospital with a suspected tropical infection, just hours after returning from a trip to India and the Maldives.<\/p>\n

Narinder Kaur, 53, who is also a panellist on Jeremy Vine’s Channel 5 show, was admitted to hospital on Tuesday (December 30). She has since taken to social media<\/a> to express her gratitude for the NHS<\/a> staff who cared for her during her illness.<\/p>\n

Posting on X – previously known as Twitter<\/a> – the former Big Brother contestant wrote: “Yesterday I was taken to the hospital for Tropical diseases after falling really poorly suddenly upon returning from India\/Maldives. I can’t thank ENOUGH the amazing nurses and dr’s who took shift and amazing care of me and all the other patients there… it was a humbling reminder of just HOW important the NHS is in the UK. I saw some very poorly folk – thank GOD for the NHS.”<\/p>\n

In response to a follower, she further elaborated on her experience as a patient, stating: “Being a patient is always a reminder of how amazing and CRUCIAL the NHS is. I mean, what would I have done without them? And more importantly – the kindness!”<\/p>\n

Narinder disclosed that she had given the hospital a “a FIRST CLASS review”, sharing a text message indicating that her feedback was appreciated by the organisation, reports the Express<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This health scare occurred just a day after she returned from a two-week family holiday in India, during which she kept her followers updated on her festive adventures.<\/p>\n

Her holiday updates on social media featured photographs from the Golden Temple and the Taj Mahal, but she disclosed that she began to feel “seriously unwell” upon returning to the UK.<\/p>\n

She is reported to have experienced symptoms including severe chills, a debilitating flu-like condition, and persistent fatigue. At this stage, she sought immediate medical attention.<\/p>\n

There, Narinder underwent numerous tests amid concerns that she may have contracted malaria, dengue fever, or another severe tropical disease. Whilst the cause of her illness remains unknown, a source told The Sun: “It all happened very quickly. Everyone saw what a great time she was having in India.<\/p>\n

“Then she started feeling seriously unwell as she returned to the UK and was advised to go straight to the hospital. It’s been frightening, but she’s in expert hands.”<\/p>\n

In certain cases, tropical diseases can take days or even weeks to manifest following exposure. In such circumstances, travellers may encounter infection risks, including mosquito bites, contaminated water, or walking barefoot in temples and religious sites.<\/p>\n

Narinder initially rose to prominence when she took part in Big Brother in 2001. She has subsequently featured on numerous talk shows, addressing current topics and social issues.<\/p>\n

She has appeared on various daytime programmes including Jeremy Vine, Good Morning Britain<\/a>, and GB News.<\/p>\n
