The British royal family is always in the spotlight, but the Andrew drama<\/a> has definitely put more eyes on the royals, how they behave, what they do, and what they condone. Perhaps this has to do with Prince William\u2019s reported plans to slim down the monarchy once he\u2019s King. Perhaps it was always his plan. Either way, what does the heir to the throne have in mind for the future and for his brother?<\/p>\n

Well, reportedly, Harry will not be keeping his title. And there are signs he might already be preparing for it? Page Six<\/a> reported that just last week, Harry participated in the St. Regis World Snow Polo Championship in Aspen, Colorado, where he kept a low profile and competed under the name Harry Wales. According to the outlet, he wanted a day of \u201cno titles, just fun,\u201d spending time with close friend Nacho Figueras.<\/p>\n

\u201cHarry was introduced as Harry Wales, with no royal title mentioned ever or anywhere,\u201d an insider told the outlet.<\/p>\n

That, of course, doesn\u2019t mean Harry is anything other than royalty. \u201cOff the field though, security wouldn\u2019t let any photographers near him,\u201d the insider noted.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unclear why Harry<\/a> decided to use Wales, considering he and Meghan Markle<\/a> formally use Sussex as their last name. Harry used to go by Harry Wales while serving in the British military.<\/p>\n

Markle even referred to the last name question on her Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, confirming she uses the last name Sussex.<\/a> \u201cYou know I\u2019m Sussex now,\u201d she told guest Mindy Kaling, explaining that it was meaningful to share a last name with her and Harry\u2019s two kids: Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou have kids and you go, \u2018No, I share my name with my children,\u2019\u201d she said. \u201cIt just means so much to go, \u2018This is our family name, our little family name.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

This all comes after recent reports from\u00a0NewsNationNow<\/a>\u00a0indicated that the Andrew situation has fortified William\u2019s decisions about titles going forward. \u201cGetting rid of Andrew has been a very useful exercise in showing what\u2019s possible regarding titles,\u201d royal historian Andrew Lownie said. \u201cAnd it\u2019s a warning shot across Harry\u2019s bow.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWilliam will further slim down the monarchy,\u201d Lownie added, explaining that titles will be stripped from all nonworking royals, including Harry and Meghan.<\/p>\n

According to RadarOnline.com<\/a>\u00a0this possibility has left Markle \u201cpanicked and defiant,\u201d with the outlet reporting she\u2019s \u201cpreparing to go legal\u201d before it happens. \u201cMeghan\u2019s really anxious that William could one day use his position to strip her of the title. She\u2019s been telling friends, \u2018No one\u2019s taking my \u2018Duchess\u2019 away.\u2019 To her, it\u2019s so much more than a title \u2013 it\u2019s tied to who she is, what she\u2019s built and how the world sees her. Losing it would feel like being written out of the story entirely,\u201d a source said.<\/p>\n

Whatever happens, for now, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle still retain their titles and likely would at least until Prince William<\/a> ascends to the throne. And then, well, it might all depend on how Harry\u2019s reconciliation with his family goes.<\/p>\n
