The UK Met Office has issued a Status Yellow snow and ice warning for counties Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone and Derry.<\/p>\n
The warning will come into place at midnight and will remain in place until 10am tomorrow.<\/p>\n
The Met Office said following a spell of rain, sleet and hill snow this evening, icy stretches are likely to develop on untreated surfaces during the early hours of tomorrow morning.<\/p>\n
It said there will also be some snow showers early tomorrow and that it could lead to patchy accumulations of 1-2cm of snow.<\/p>\n
The Status Yellow warning comes as a cold snap has arrived for the entire country.<\/p>\n
Met \u00c9ireann said temperatures are due to drop to between -1 and +3 degrees overnight.<\/p>\n
Rain will develop in Ulster before moving south across Leinster and Connacht overnight. Wintry showers will follow in Ulster while Munster will stay mainly dry.<\/p>\n
