A Midlothian man was hauled away by police after being confronted on camera by a ‘child protection group’. The man was visited at an address in Gorebridge<\/a> on Saturday, December 27.<\/p>\n

In a video streamed on social media he can be seen casually leaning against a door as an unseen woman from the self-styled “child protection team” throws questions at him. When he claims not to know the answers, she shuts him down, telling him she already knows.<\/p>\n

He moves into another room, quickly followed by two other people from the group. The screen then goes black as a shouting match ensues, with the woman firing accusations at him as he protests<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He then sits in silence on a bed smoking, keeping his head down as she continues to interrogate him.<\/p>\n

After another 10 minutes, the police arrive at the scene, as members of the team exit the property. The force later confirmed a 44-year-old man had been arrested <\/a>and charged in connection with the incident.<\/p>\n

Shortly after, officers can be seen marching him down the front path towards a waiting police car. The man was due to appear in court on Monday, December 27.<\/p>\n

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: \u201cPolice attended at an address in Gorebridge, around 12.40pm on Saturday, 27 December, 2025 following reports of a crowd gathering at a property.<\/p>\n
