A teenager is in hospital with “very serious” injuries after an alleged series of “disorders” on New Year’s Eve. The incident happened in Mysydd Road in Swansea<\/a> at around 9.45pm on Wednesday, December 31.<\/p>\n A 17-year-old boy from Clase in Swansea was taken to hospital with injuries described as “very serious”. South Wales Police has said his family is being supported by specialist officers. Four other teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of affray.<\/p>\n These include a 17-year-old boy from Cwmrhydyceirw, Swansea, an 18-year-old man from Morriston, Swansea, a 17-year-old boy from Clase and a 17-year-old boy from Treboeth. Never miss a Swansea story by signing up to our newsletter here<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n A spokesman for South Wales Police<\/a> said: “Officers attended Mysydd Road, Plasmarl, Swansea, at around 9:45pm yesterday (Wednesday, December 31) following a report of a disturbance.<\/p>\n “A 17-year-old boy from Clase, Swansea, has been taken to hospital with very serious injuries.<\/p>\n “His family is being supported by specially trained officers.<\/p>\n “Four others \u2013 a 17-year-old boy from Cwmrhydyceirw, Swansea, an 18-year-old man from Morriston, Swansea, a 17-year-old boy from Clase, and a 17-year-old boy from Treboeth have been arrested on suspicion of affray in connection with this incident.”<\/p>\n Detective Inspector Katherine Barry<\/a> said: \u201cThis was a series of incidents of disorder involving one group of young men.<\/p>\n “We are aware that posts about this incident have been shared widely on social media.<\/p>\n \u201cAny witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact South Wales Police on 101 quoting occurrence 2500412140.\u201d<\/p>\n Torsten Bell, MP for Swansea West, said: \u201cThis is a very disturbing incident, spreading disorder at a time when people should be able to celebrate in peace.<\/p>\n “I\u2019m grateful to the emergency workers who responded at the scene and are now working hard to look after a young man with very serious injuries.
