Newcastle United could sell players during the January transfer\u00a0window,\u00a0and two Premier League clubs are interested in a star\u00a0almost\u00a0entering\u00a0the final year of his contract.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Clearly, much\u00a0of the focus at Newcastle United<\/a> this month will be on players they could potentially sign.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Still, player trading remains a key part of the process. While Newcastle do not necessarily need to sell to buy, they do need to get better at raising money through player sales in general. <\/p>\n

In an ideal world, Eddie Howe has confirmed he\u00a0doesn\u2019t\u00a0want to sell players in January<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

However,\u00a0Joe Willock<\/a> is one of the players who could\u00a0depart. <\/p>\n

Newcastle\u00a0are\u00a0open to selling Willock<\/a>, who may have a chance to join former teammate Sean Longstaff<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Leeds and Nottingham Forest want to sign Joe Willock <\/p>\n

According to iNews<\/a>, Willock has interest from both Leeds and Nottingham Forest.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Leeds, of course, signed Longstaff from Newcastle back in July and the Yorkshire giants are hoping to stay in the Premier League this season. <\/p>\n

They may well need some reinforcements during the January transfer window to achieve their goal and Willock is thought to be of interest. <\/p>\n

Willock \u2013 who made 82 appearances alongside Longstaff at Newcastle \u2013 is out of contract in the summer of 2027.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fulham and Crystal Palace have previously been linked with a move, too. <\/p>\n

Selling Joe Willock could unlock financial doors for Newcastle United <\/p>\n

Interestingly, the report adds that selling the likes of Willock could keep the financial wheels moving at Newcastle.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Should they sell him for anything approaching a significant sum, the club could feasibly reinvest it without worrying too much about PSR limitations. <\/p>\n

Newcastle do not generally sell players for a lot of money unless they are forced to. <\/p>\n

The only huge sales\u00a0they\u2019ve\u00a0made during the PIF era \u2013 Alexander Isak, Elliot\u00a0Anderson\u00a0and\u00a0Yankuba\u00a0Minteh\u00a0\u2013 came against their wishes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

By selling players like Willock and perhaps William Osula, the club could avoid the PSR nightmare that saw them forced to sell Anderson and Minteh in the future. <\/p>\n

Howe is\u00a0a big fan\u00a0of Willock<\/a> but, if there\u2019s genuine interest in him, it should be acted upon.\u00a0<\/p>\n
