The royal family<\/a> celebrates Christmas in a whole variety of different ways, from public events like the \u201cTogether at Christmas\u201d Carol Service, to more private affairs, like their family gift exchange on Christmas Eve.<\/p>\n

For 2025, the Princess of Wales<\/a> quietly added a new event to the itinerary, which involved her two youngest children, Princess Charlotte<\/a>, 10, and Prince Louis, 7.<\/p>\n

A couple of days before Christmas, on 23 December, it turns out that Kate treated Charlotte and Louis to a matinee showing of the Thursford Christmas Spectacular in Norfolk.<\/p>\n

Per the official Thursford tourism site<\/a>, the Christmas Spectacular is: \u201can extravaganza of non-stop singing, dancing, music, humour and variety. It\u2019s a fast-moving celebration of the festive season featuring an eclectic mix of both seasonal and year-round favourites. With a cast of 130 this is the biggest Christmas show of its kind in Europe.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kate and William have certainly embraced taking their children to live entertainment, but this marked the first time the Princess of Wales attended this particular event with her son and daughter.<\/p>\n

Following their appearance, host Lloyd Hollett<\/a> expressed his enthusiasm at their attendance on Instagram, where he shared a post that read: \u201cWhat a day\u2026 Today, we were honoured by the presence of Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales, alongside Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, who attended our matinee performance. Seeing them in the Royal Box enjoying our show was truly a career highlight. We\u2019re definitely going out on a high, with our final performance now underway.\u201d <\/p>\n

It makes sense that Kate and her two children were able to go unnoticed, because Thursford is in Norfolk, about half an hour from Sandringham, where the royals spend Christmas. The county is also home to Anmer Hall, the Wales family\u2019s country house, which was gifted to William and Kate by the late Queen Elizabeth II.<\/p>\n

Although George, 12 \u2013 the eldest Wales child \u2013 was notably absent from the show, earlier in December he accompanied his father, Prince William, to help set up the annual Christmas lunch at The Passage<\/a>. A charity that\u2019s dedicated to fighting homelessness, it’s one over which William has served as a royal patron since 2019 (his late mother, Princess Diana<\/a>, first took him there when he was just a young boy).<\/p>\n

Then, of course, the entire Wales family came together on Christmas Day, when they were seen at a morning church service at the St. Mary Magdalene church in Sandringham. It seems Kate may just be trying to add a new family tradition into the mix.<\/p>\n
