On January 1, 2026, Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson Anand Dubey issued a warning aimed at Khan \u2014 who co-owns KKR \u2014 saying that if the club allows Mustafizur Rahman to participate, the earnings he receives in the IPL might be used \u201cto fund terrorism.\u201d Dubey suggested that removing the player from the team could earn respect, but alleged that permitting him to play would pose potential risks.<\/p>\n
This is not the first politically charged reaction to KKR\u2019s signing. Earlier, BJP leaders and other figures voiced opposition over Mustafizur\u2019s inclusion, linking it to minority persecution in Bangladesh and broader national sentiments.
