{"id":669114,"date":"2026-01-02T14:17:18","date_gmt":"2026-01-02T14:17:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/669114\/"},"modified":"2026-01-02T14:17:18","modified_gmt":"2026-01-02T14:17:18","slug":"sam-morsy-and-ranel-young-bristol-city-make-first-january-signings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/669114\/","title":{"rendered":"Sam Morsy and Ranel Young: Bristol City make first January signings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\"><b class=\"ssrcss-1xjjfut-BoldText e5tfeyi3\">Bristol City have confirmed the signing of free agent Sam Morsy on a six-month deal until the end of the season.<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The move, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/sport\/football\/articles\/ckg9xyx58wdo\" class=\"ssrcss-k8mrr8-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported last month<\/a>, sees the former Ipswich midfielder return to football for the first time since September after his two-year contract with Kuwait FC was cancelled.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The 34-year-old captained Ipswich Town to back-to-back promotions from League One to the Premier League, before leaving the Tractor Boys this summer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;As soon as I heard of the interest, I could see it was a really good fit for me,&#8221; Morsy said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;Gerhard [Struber] has an infectious personality and is a real winner and I know the style of football he wants to play.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;I am going to give it everything I have got and I am fully committed to this cause.
