A major Edinburgh road has been closed off after a car collided with scaffolding. Police were called to the city centre following the incident<\/a> at around 2.40pm on Friday, January 2.<\/p>\n

The structure is said to have become insecure as a result of the collision. Police Scotland<\/a> have advised members of the public to avoid the area.<\/p>\n

However, the force have confirmed nobody was injured<\/a>. Diversions are in place for motorists.<\/p>\n

Queen Street is closed in both directions between Frederick Street and Hanover Street.<\/p>\n

Traffic travelling west is diverted down Queen Street Gardens East. Hanover Street is also closed from Queen Street to its junction with George Street.<\/p>\n

Lothian Buses also issued an alert that three of its services would be re-routed until further notice.<\/p>\n
