Whether it is the State Pension, Universal Credit, Attendance Allowance or PIP, the money is vital to many of those who receive it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Latest figures show there are about 24 million people in receipt of some form of Department of Work and Pensions ( DWP ) benefit. This is made up of about 13 million of State Pension age, 10 million of working age, and some disabled children who qualify for help.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">In Rachel Reeves autumn budget many changes were announced to various benefits including ending the two-child limit which means families with more than two children will get increased payments. Charity Turn2us, which helps people access the benefits they are entitled to, has a list of every change planned so far for 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">It has released its updated guide, <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/money\/dwp-benefit-changes-2026-universal-36480262\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" rel=\"follow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\">reports The Mirror<\/a>. It warned there could be changes ahead but added: &#8220;Although some will happen quickly, others may be introduced gradually.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">March 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">All legacy benefits will end on 31 March 2026. This means no more payments will be made after that date.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">April 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Universal Credit<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Introduction of changes to Universal Credit, from April 2026:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"UnorderedList_unordered-list__gzblI\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"unordered-list\">\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">The two-child limit will be removed. This means families with three or more children will receive an extra child element payment for each additional child<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">New claimants of Universal Credit who get LCWRA will not get the full \u00a394 per week and instead get \u00a350<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">The maximum amount available for Universal Credit Childcare Costs will increase by \u00a3736.06 for each additional child above the two-child cap<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The Universal Credit standard allowance will increase from:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"UnorderedList_unordered-list__gzblI\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"unordered-list\">\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">\u00a3316.98 to \u00a3338.58 per month for single people aged under 25<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">\u00a3400.14 to \u00a3424.90 per month for single people aged 25 and over<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">\u00a3497.55 to \u00a3528.34 per month for joint claimants both aged under 25<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">\u00a3628.10 to \u00a3666.97 per month for joint claimants both aged 25 and over<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">Benefit increases<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"UnorderedList_unordered-list__gzblI\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"unordered-list\">\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">Social security benefits across the UK will increase by 3.8%<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">The New and Basic State Pension will increase by 4.8%<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">The National Living Wage will rise by 4.1%, from \u00a312.21 to 12.71 per hour<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">The National Minimum Wage for 18 to 20-year-olds will increase by 8.5%, from \u00a310.00 to \u00a310.85 per hour.
