A yellow warning for snow and ice was in place until 12pm on Saturday, and the Met Office has issued a new warning for ice which will come into force at 4pm.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The new yellow warning will remain in place until midday on Sunday, January 4, although as with all <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.walesonline.co.uk\/all-about\/wales-weather\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" rel=\"follow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\">weather<\/a> alerts it could be subject to change, or further warnings could be added. This warning too affects most parts of Wales. Then, at 12pm on Monday, a new yellow warning for snow and ice will come into force for almost 24 hours, lasting until 11am on Tuesday, January 6.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">This will cover large parts of Wales including Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Gwynedd, Isle of Anglesey, <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.walesonline.co.uk\/all-about\/neath-port-talbot\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" rel=\"follow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\">Neath Port Talbot<\/a>, Pembrokeshire, Powys, Swansea, and Wrexham.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">According to the Met Office: \u201cShowers of sleet and snow (snow mainly over higher ground), will affect parts of Wales and southwest England during Saturday evening and overnight into Sunday morning. Where showers occur, icy stretches will develop on untreated surfaces.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">\u201cWhilst many areas will see little accumulating snow, there is potential for several cm over Eryri, higher ground of Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire, and perhaps parts of Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The Met Office has issued the following advice on how to stay safe in snowy and icy conditions: \u201cKeep yourself and your family safe when it is icy. Plan to leave the house at least five minutes earlier than normal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">\u201cNot needing to rush, reduces your risk of accidents, slips, and falls. If you need to make a journey on foot, try to use pavements along main roads which are likely to be less slippery.
