Ryan Gravenberch<\/a> is next in line for a new long-term contract at Liverpool, with the club set to open talks over an improved deal for their 23-year-old midfielder.<\/b><\/p>\n

Gravenberch signed a five-year contract when he joined Liverpool from Bayern Munich<\/a> in 2023, meaning he still has two-and-a-half years left on his current deal.<\/p>\n

But the Reds are pushing to tie down their No. 38 for even longer while also rewarding his development as one of Arne Slot<\/a>\u2018s most important players.<\/p>\n

The Times<\/a>\u2018 Paul Joyce follows up reports from late last year<\/a> in explaining that Liverpool plan to open talks with Gravenberch\u2019s representatives in the near future.<\/p>\n

Formal negotiations are yet to take place but there is a desire for the Dutchman to commit beyond his existing terms.<\/p>\n

Liverpool are also seeking to extend the deals of both Dominik Szoboszlai<\/a><\/b> and Alexis Mac Allister<\/a><\/b>, while Curtis Jones<\/a><\/b> is among those due a new contract too.<\/p>\n

There are more pressing issues when it comes to Ibrahima Konate<\/a><\/b> and Andy Robertson<\/a><\/b>, whose deals are set to run out on July 1.<\/p>\n

Virgil van Dijk<\/a><\/b>, Mohamed Salah<\/a><\/b>, Alisson<\/a><\/b>, Joe Gomez<\/a><\/b> and Wataru Endo<\/a><\/b> are all tied to Liverpool until 2027 but it remains to be seen if they will be offered new terms.<\/p>\n

Talks over Gravenberch\u2019s contract are expected to include a pay rise, though he is already reported to earn around \u00a3150,000 a week<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Only three Liverpool players \u2013 Van Dijk, Szoboszlai and Konate \u2013 clocked more minutes than Gravenberch so far this season, however, which underlines his importance.<\/p>\n

He was also the third-most used player last season, behind only Salah and Van Dijk, while he picked up the Premier League<\/a> Young Player of the Season award along with a place in the PFA Team of the Year after establishing himself as first-choice No. 6.<\/p>\n

Asked about his contract situation in November, Gravenberch was coy in his response, telling reporters<\/a>: \u201cObviously I\u2019m happy here, we have to see. We haven\u2019t talked yet, but we will see.\u201d<\/p>\n
