A bride has spoken of her devastation following her husband\u2019s suicide the day after their \u2018perfect\u2019 honeymoon<\/p>\n
Then months later, on Valentine\u2019s Day<\/a>, she was shocked to receive flowers he\u2019d ordered for her before he died.<\/p>\n Isabel, 32, and Christopher Coles, 28, from Southern Pines,\u00a0North Carolina<\/a> in the US<\/a> married in September last year after meeting on a dating app a year and a half before.<\/p>\n Both big music fans, they decided to spend their honeymoon at a beachfront music festival called Sea Hear Now in New Jersey. <\/p>\n The morning after they returned home, Christopher, who was serving in the military, started acting \u2018a little weird\u2019 said Isobel, but wouldn\u2019t tell her what was wrong.<\/p>\n He then left the house with a handgun, and before Isabel had a chance to stop him, disappeared into a nearby forest. <\/p>\n Unable to find him, she contacted his parents in Georgia who arrived the following day. His dad eventually discovered his son\u2019s body in the forest. <\/p>\n \t\t Isabel said she saw no signs her husband was struggling in the lead up to his death.<\/p>\n She described the pair as \u2018so insanely happy and in love\u2019 on their music festival honeymoon.<\/p>\n \u2018Music was a huge part of our relationship, it was the perfect way to celebrate our marriage,\u2019 she explained. <\/p>\n When they returned home, Christopher \u2018stayed up all night\u2019 putting together the guest information for their wedding reception.<\/p>\n \t\t They had tied the knot in a small ceremony at a court house in September and were organising a big celebration event for friends and family.<\/p>\n The following morning Christopher was \u2018folding laundry and things were a little weird,\u2019 she said. \u2018I asked him what was wrong, and he said \u201cnothing\u201d. <\/p>\n \u2018He went downstairs and tried to get out. I stood at the front door and asked what was going on. <\/p>\n \u2018He got out and started heading towards the woods. I ran upstairs to get shoes on and realised he had taken his handgun.\u2019<\/p>\n \t\t When she found out the next day he had taken his own life, Isabel said she was left \u2018shocked\u2019 and \u2018devastated\u2019. <\/p>\n The mother-of-one described her husband as \u2018very successful and very driven and motivated\u2019 and \u2018such a good person\u2019, adding \u2018so looking back I think, \u201cWere there signs?\u201d<\/p>\n \u2018He was very hard on himself, always pushing himself. There were no signs, it did take me really off guard.\u2019<\/p>\n Isabel said she \u2018freaked\u2019 out when the bouquet of flowers arrived from her late husband on Valentine\u2019s this year.<\/p>\n \t\t \u2018I contacted the florist and they said he ordered the flowers in September because he knew he would be deployed and travelling back around Valentine\u2019s Day,\u2019 she explained. <\/p>\n The pair often spent months apart due to Christopher\u2019s job.<\/p>\n \u2018He wrote to me every single day where he was telling me about his day, almost like talking to me,\u2019 Isabel said. \u2018He would ask me about my day knowing that I couldn\u2019t respond.\u2019<\/p>\n She added: \u2018My husband had just come back at the end of August and wanted to get married in case something happened to me or him.<\/p>\n \t\t Samaritans are here to listen, day or night, 365 days a year. No one believes that a smart, handsome, successful man who has a great life wakes up one day and decides to end his life,\u2019 she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u2018There are people in my life that say I had something to do with it. I know it\u2019s not true, my husband and I were very happy. No one can change that or take that away from me.<\/p>\n \t\t \u2018There are things I do blame myself for but I don\u2019t think we were unhappy or that I did it. He obviously was fighting demons and no one knew about it. I\u2019m not doing well; there\u2019s a part of me that is gone forever.<\/p>\n \u2018There\u2019s still so much that I\u2019m dealing with that makes me feel like I\u2019m reliving the moment over and over again which is very tough.\u2019<\/p>\n She continued: \u2018He didn\u2019t do it to hurt me, he wouldn\u2019t do anything to hurt me.
