{"id":672397,"date":"2026-01-04T02:25:13","date_gmt":"2026-01-04T02:25:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/672397\/"},"modified":"2026-01-04T02:25:13","modified_gmt":"2026-01-04T02:25:13","slug":"pitch-inspection-planned-ahead-of-barrow-vs-bristol-rovers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/672397\/","title":{"rendered":"Pitch inspection planned ahead of Barrow vs Bristol Rovers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Inspection planned for 11am on Sunday &#8211; as pitch is currently playable<\/p>\n<p><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35 __className_5d9e5a\">Daniel Clark<\/strong> Content Editor<\/p>\n<p>18:15, 03 Jan 2026<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/0_Barrow-v-Tranmere-Rovers-Sky-Bet-League-Two-Football-Holker-Street-Barrow-in-Furness-UK-09-De.jpg\" loading=\"eager\"  \/>(Image: Phil Oldham\/Shutterstock)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">A pitch inspection will take place at 11am on Sunday after of <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/all-about\/bristol-rovers-fc\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" rel=\"follow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\">Bristol Rovers<\/a>&#8216; trip to Barrow.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The League Two clash at present will go ahead despite freezing conditions across the country &#8211; but it is subject to a pitch inspection.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">In a statement, Barrow said that in its current state, the pitch at Holker Street is playable, and overnight conditions are expected to be similar tonight to last night.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">They added that while they appreciated the length of journey that Rovers fans have to undertake, given the pitch is currently in a fit state, there is no reason to postpone the game at present.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The statement said: &#8220;Tomorrow\u2019s game against Bristol Rovers is still going ahead subject to an 11am pitch inspection tomorrow morning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;The frost covers have been on the pitch overnight and heat lamps are covering the worst affected areas. In its current state, the pitch is playable. Temperatures overnight tonight are similar to those last night, so we are anticipating a similar outlook tomorrow ahead of the match. &#8220;The match official, James Oldham, will conduct an 11am pitch inspection tomorrow morning, allowing time for the overnight frost to thaw out in the morning.
