{"id":672680,"date":"2026-01-04T05:42:37","date_gmt":"2026-01-04T05:42:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/672680\/"},"modified":"2026-01-04T05:42:37","modified_gmt":"2026-01-04T05:42:37","slug":"the-book-of-mormon-set-to-become-the-16th-longest-running-show-in-west-end-history","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/672680\/","title":{"rendered":"The Book of Mormon set to become the 16th longest-running show in West End history"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The Book of Mormon overtakes We Will Rock You this week to become London\u2019s 16th longest-running production, and 12th longest-running musical<\/p>\n<p>Smash-hit musical comedy <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westendtheatre.com\/18070\/shows\/the-book-of-mormon-london\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Book of Mormon<\/a><\/strong> reaches a major milestone this week, becoming the 16th longest-running show in West End theatre history.<\/p>\n<p>The Book of Mormon is now playing at the <strong>Prince of Wales Theatre<\/strong> in London, booking to 18 April<strong> <\/strong>2026.<\/p>\n<p>Created by South Park\u2019s <strong>Trey Parker<\/strong> and <strong>Matt Stone<\/strong>, with music co-written by <strong>Robert Lopez<\/strong> (Frozen, Avenue Q), The Book of Mormon opened in the West End in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>At tomorrow\u2019s evening performance on 3 January 2026, The Book of Mormon will play its 4,660th performance, leapfrogging We Will Rock You to become the 16th longest-running show, and also the 12th longest-running musical in West End history.<\/p>\n<p>See the full line-up of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westendtheatre.com\/27702\/news\/inspiration\/top-10-longest-running-west-end-shows\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the longest-running West End shows here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In recent months The Book of Mormon has also overtaken Thriller Live and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westendtheatre.com\/5303\/shows\/billy-elliot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Billy Elliot The Musical<\/a> in the longest-running shows and musicals categories.<\/p>\n<p>Other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westendtheatre.com\/329498\/news\/inspiration\/west-end-theatre-milestones-in-2025-including-les-mis-moulin-rouge-the-lion-king-more\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">West End milestones in 2025<\/a> for the show included it becoming the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westendtheatre.com\/27702\/news\/inspiration\/top-10-longest-running-west-end-shows\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">15th longest-running musical<\/a> in West End history in June 2025, overtaking <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westendtheatre.com\/262309\/shows\/miss-saigon-tour-tickets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Miss Saigon<\/a> after its <strong>4,413th performance<\/strong> in London.<\/p>\n<p>The current London cast includes <strong>Blair Gibson<\/strong> as Elder Price, <strong>Conner Peirson<\/strong> as Elder Cunningham, and <strong>Paige Peddie<\/strong> as Nabulungi, alongside <strong>Colin Burnicle<\/strong>, <strong>Ian Carlyle<\/strong>, <strong>Matthew Elliot-Campbell<\/strong>, and <strong>Ron Remke<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The ensemble features Deon Adams, Carys Alyse Thomson, Jake Bishop, Charlie Booker, Callum Henderson, Harry Lake, Harrison Langham, Jacob McIntosh, Nicholas McLean, Paige Miller, Zachary Miller, Jack Rose, Kellah-M Spring, Kinshasa Sunrise, Nic Vani, Aisha Williams, and Jason Yeboa.
