A flight from Belfast to Egypt was cancelled this weekend after police had to attend due to a “group of customers behaving disruptively.”<\/p>\n

easyJet flight EZY3077, from Belfast international Airport<\/a> to Hurghada, was due to depart at 12.55pm on Saturday, January 3, but was rescheduled until Sunday morning, January 4, as a result of the incident.<\/p>\n

In a statement, easyJet<\/a> said they took such “incidents seriously” and did not “tolerate disruptive behaviour onboard.” The delay with disruptive passengers led to crew reaching their safety regulated operating hours, which resulted in the flight’s cancellation.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for easyJet said: “Flight EZY3077 from Belfast to Hurghada on 3rd January was attended by police prior to departure due to a group of customers behaving disruptively onboard.<\/p>\n

“Our cabin crew are trained to assess all situations and to act quickly and appropriately, to ensure that the safety of the flight and other customers is not compromised at any time. We take these incidents seriously and do not tolerate disruptive behaviour onboard.<\/p>\n

“Unfortunately this delay led to the crew reaching their safety regulated operating hours which has resulted in the flight being rescheduled to tomorrow and we are providing customers with hotel accommodation and meals.<\/p>\n

“The safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew is always easyJet’s highest priority and while this was outside of our control, we are sorry for the inconvenience this will have caused.”<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for the PSNI<\/a> confirmed they “assisted Belfast International Airport Constabulary with the disembarkation of passengers” from the flight.<\/p>\n
