Veteran Eye of The Water\u00a0didn\u2019t\u00a0run too badly at Lingfield last time and could give the\u00a0selection\u00a0most to do,\u00a0with the booking of Cieren Fallon taking the eye. <\/p>\n<p>He doesn\u2019t have a good record for the yard in general, but appears to be a man on a mission after 2025, which saw him record 136 wins at a strike-rate of 19%, both career-best numbers.\u00a0Call Glory, who ran well when runner-up at Newcastle in early December,\u00a0would also need considering if showing up after\/instead of Southwell on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s\u00a0hard to make a compelling case for any of these, but\u00a0bottom-weight\u00a0<strong>THE GAY BLADE<\/strong>\u00a0will strip fitter with his Newcastle return under his\u00a0belt\u00a0and this is his first exposure to classified company for some time. Without the headgear that he has sported\u00a0to little effect\u00a0on his last two starts, he therefore gets the tentative nod in\u00a0favour\u00a0of American Rose, who could bounce back after a two-month break,\u00a0and\u00a0C&amp;D winner\u00a0Evoluir,\u00a0who stepped up on his Newcastle effort when fourth here last month.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Any support for\u00a0Mr\u00a0Trick, who drops markedly in trip, would be worth heeding, while the\u00a0Timeform\u00a0pace prediction of \u2018weak\u2019 would suggest that\u00a0the set-up of the race could favour likely front-runner Anificas Beauty.<\/p>\n<p>With luck in-running, in-form\u00a0<strong>VITALLINE<\/strong>\u00a0can make it two wins from his last\u00a0three\u00a0starts.\u00a0A confirmed hold-up performer, the eight-year-old shaped as if still in good form when three lengths fifth to Jackson Street in a handicap at Lingfield last time, finishing with running left\u00a0having hit traffic problems. <\/p>\n<p>Southwell fifth\u00a0Al\u00a0Baahy\u00a0looks\u00a0a danger eased in grade, while Aim\u00a0For\u00a0The\u00a0Bull is respected having bounced back to form\u00a0when two lengths second of 13 to A Pint of Bear in an amateur riders\u2019 event at the same Midlands course last time. In a similar vein,\u00a0the return of Andrew\u00a0Mullen\u00a0should\u00a0see\u00a0an\u00a0improved\u00a0performance\u00a0from\u00a0Catherine Choi.<\/p>\n<p>Charlie Johnston has tended to start new calendar years with plenty of gusto, recording\u00a0January\u00a0strike-rates of 18%\u00a0in 2023 and 21% in 2025, and February strike-rates of 27% in 2024 and 21% in 2025. <\/p>\n<p>The yard\u2019s\u00a0<strong>ALBA GU BRATH<\/strong>\u00a0didn\u2019t\u00a0progress as expected from debut when finishing second again at Newcastle\u00a0three\u00a0weeks ago, but with Abando\u00a0seemingly not\u00a0the force of old, this\u00a0looks\u00a0a good opportunity\u00a0for a yard that currently has the\u00a0Timeform\u00a0\u2018Hot Trainer\u2019 flag. Poor Relation, whose dam was good enough to finish runner-up in the\u00a0German Oaks,\u00a0showed enough on debut\u00a0despite being sent off at 50\/1\u00a0to think she\u00a0may\u00a0emerge\u00a0as the chief threat.<\/p>\n<p>            <a href=\"https:\/\/skillzone.paddypower.com\/eliminator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Editorial_Pack_Type-991x624_UK.webp.webp\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Upped in trip for\u00a0his\u00a0all-weather debut,\u00a0<strong>NEW BAY STAR<\/strong>\u00a0got back on track when 1\u00bc lengths second of 8 to Gatehouse\u00a0at Chelmsford last time and he is taken to go one better with cheekpieces added\u00a0and the\u00a0strong\u00a0possibility of an easy lead.\u00a0The main danger could be\u00a0the Frankel colt\u00a0Asia Force, who is respected for Karl Burke on debut, while Genuine Warrior is open to improvement with his first run behind him.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Despite being out of a mare who won over five furlongs as a juvenile,\u00a0he\u2019s\u00a0likely\u00a0to\u00a0improve for\u00a0the extra distance here,\u00a0given the steady encouragement he showed on debut.\u00a0The others\u00a0appear to be\u00a0handicapping projects, most notably\u00a0Level Look, who is one to watch over middle distances once qualified for a mark.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MOLLIE FOSTER<\/strong>\u00a0won a deeper handicap on\u00a0her\u00a0all-weather debut at Southwell last time and may be able to follow up.\u00a0She\u00a0appeared to relish\u00a0the step up to a mile when winning on her final start for Ed Walker back in October, and, narrowly top on\u00a0Timeform\u00a0weight-adjusted\u00a0ratings, she also\u00a0features the\u00a0\u2018New Trainer\u2019 flag here, having been picked up by\u00a0The Horse Watchers and sent to Mark Loughnane since.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Rather than Enola Grey, who was\u00a0possibly flattered\u00a0by the way the race developed when she won here last month,\u00a0fellow course\u00a0winner Great Mates could be the\u00a0main\u00a0danger if taking another\u00a0step forward on\u00a0her\u00a0handicap debut.<\/p>\n<p>            <a href=\"https:\/\/news.paddypower.com\/horse-racing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/104868-PP-News-Editorial-Banners-991x624-Banner2.jpg\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A competitive three-year-old handicap, but\u00a0<strong>ONYEISI<\/strong>\u00a0followed up his Chelmsford win with a creditable third over C&amp;D last time and may be able to resume winning ways in a slightly lower grade.\u00a0With a lack of pace forecast, and stamina\u00a0seemingly his\u00a0strong point\u00a0since stepping up in trip, it would make sense for Jack Mitchell to be positive.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Though still a maiden,\u00a0Shes\u00a0Got The Blues shaped better than the result\u00a0(fifth)\u00a0behind a well-backed\u00a0Chilliconcarneigh\u00a0(second)\u00a0here last time. Montu\u00a0\u2013 who\u00a0has looked green so far \u2013\u00a0could fare better for the switch to handicaps,\u00a0given he is from a successful family who have tended to improve for racing\/distance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FAR TOO FIZZY<\/strong>\u2018s free-going ways look fairly\u00a0ingrained,\u00a0but he\u2019s back at 5f and given how well he did to finish second here last week, his mark is evidently a very workable one; hopefully for his supporters, this race will be weak enough for him to last out and record a second career success.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Another keen racer, Havin A Flyer, also drops back to the minimum trip and is offered for the forecast ahead of the unexposed Mythical Night, who has shown a little more on her last two starts, but those were weak events.
