Bristol Palin<\/strong><\/a> has been battling her mysterious facial paralysis<\/a> for an entire year.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf anyone\u2019s wondering, today\u2019s Day 323 of my face being paralyzed,\u201d Palin, 35, said in video footage taken last month that she posted to her Instagram Stories on Saturday, January 3. \u201cNot looking great.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cThis is what it looks like. There\u2019s not a whole lot of movement.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Palin, she plans to \u201ceventually\u201d get Botox in one of her eyes as a result.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tCourtesy of Bristol Palin\/Instagram Bristol Palin has been dealing with a case of facial paralysis. \u201cI woke up nine days ago with a weird little sensation in my face,\u201d Palin, 34, said in a Wednesday, January 29, Instagram Story video. \u201cMy mouth was pulling this way and it just felt a little off. So, I [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n

\u201cIt just gets so small when I smile or when I\u2019m expressive at all,\u201d Palin explained. \u201cIt\u2019ll be a year in January, could be worse, could be better. At least I\u2019ve got cute sunglasses.\u201d<\/p>\n

Palin disclosed in January 2025 that half of her face was paralyzed<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI woke up nine days ago with a weird little sensation in my face,\u201d she said in a social media video at the time. \u201cMy mouth was pulling this way and it just felt a little off. So, I went and looked in the mirror. I\u2019m like, \u2018Wow, this is looking a little weird.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

A few hours later, the Teen Mom alum noticed the left side of her face was \u201cnumb and just paralyzed.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cCouldn\u2019t really blink my eye, definitely had no movement on the side of my face,\u201d she recalled. \u201cSo crazy. [I] went to the doctor. They ran tests, they did a CT scan [and] they put me on steroids, put me on other medications. Nothing came back with all the results. They think it\u2019s just a case of Bell\u2019s palsy maybe brought on by stress or lack of sleep.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added at the time, \u201cI\u2019m not really sure. There\u2019s nothing that I was super stressed out about, but I think it was brought on by stress.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the Mayo Clinic, Bell\u2019s palsy is a temporary condition that causes sudden weakness in the muscles on one side of the face.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tBristol Palin gave a lighthearted update on her facial paralysis condition. \u201cIf I just keep my mouth shut I look pretty normal, lol,\u201d Palin, 34, wrote via her Instagram Story on Tuesday. February 4. \u201cMaybe it\u2019s a sign.\u201d Palin\u2019s update comes nearly a week after she initially opened up about her health struggle. \u201cI woke [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m finally starting to get some of the sensation back. It\u2019s been, like, a little painful the last two days, which is a sign [and a] good indication that it\u2019s getting better, so praise the Lord,\u201d she said. \u201cThis has been wild. Also if you know anyone that has any of these symptoms, I would highly suggest going more of the Eastern medicine [route], as well. I\u2019ve been getting acupuncture multiple times and that\u2019s helped speed up the process of recovery tremendously.\u201d<\/p>\n

Several months later, Palin revealed in another social media update that she was \u201chandling [the situation] well.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t look at pictures of myself,\u201d she said in July 2025, adding that her face is \u201cprobably 70 percent back<\/a> to normal. \u2026 I woke up and it was paralyzed, completely out of the blue. No warning. [I] wasn\u2019t sick, didn\u2019t get the v@x, no recent Botox. Just paralyzed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Palin still doesn\u2019t have a definitive diagnosis.<\/p>\n
