{"id":674556,"date":"2026-01-05T03:00:14","date_gmt":"2026-01-05T03:00:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/674556\/"},"modified":"2026-01-05T03:00:14","modified_gmt":"2026-01-05T03:00:14","slug":"arne-slot-will-be-forced-to-drop-one-of-liverpools-best-performing-players","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/674556\/","title":{"rendered":"Arne Slot will be FORCED to drop one of Liverpool&#8217;s best performing players"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Liverpool continued their unbeaten run with a 2-2 draw away at Fulham on Sunday afternoon.  <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sunday\u2019s draw marked the Reds\u2019 ninth game in a row without facing defeat, a massive improvement on the club\u2019s form in October and November.<\/p>\n<p>                            Article continues under the video<\/p>\n<p>Although <a href=\"https:\/\/www.anfieldwatch.co.uk\/liverpool-fc\/manager\/arne-slot\/\" title=\"Arne Slot\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arne Slot<\/a>\u2019s side avoided defeat, the performance was once again lacklustre and there was plenty of room for improvement.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the overall team performance being disappointing, there were a number of bright spots.<\/p>\n<p>Two of the best players on the pitch were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.anfieldwatch.co.uk\/liverpool-fc\/players\/conor-bradley\/\" title=\"Conor Bradley\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Conor Bradley<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.anfieldwatch.co.uk\/liverpool-fc\/players\/jeremie-frimpong\/\" title=\"Jeremie Frimpong\u00a0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jeremie Frimpong<\/a>, leaving Slot with a potential selection headache over the next few weeks.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>            Arne Slot facing difficult right-back decision<\/p>\n<p>Bradley played the full duration of Sunday\u2019s draw, bagging an assist as well as showing how solid he can be defensively.<\/p>\n<p>Frimpong came off the bench to replace Florian Wirtz, operating on the right-hand side of Liverpool\u2019s attack, and also created a goal.<\/p>\n<p>Injuries to both players have made it hard to judge who is Slot\u2019s first choice for the right-back position, although Bradley seems to be edging it at the moment.<\/p>\n<p>Frimpong has played a supporting role over recent weeks after returning from injury, mostly deployed in an advanced role in the absence of Mohamed Salah, but that doesn&#8217;t feel like the long-term plan for the Dutchman.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Once Salah returns to Anfield, Frimpong best chance of starting will be over Bradley and an interesting battle for a spot in Slot\u2019s XI could bloom.<\/p>\n<p>An injury crisis at Liverpool has left Slot without options in many positions across the pitch, so having a wealth of choice at right-back will no doubt delight the boss.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.anfieldwatch.co.uk\/liverpool-fc\/players\/joe-gomez\/\" title=\"Joe Gomez\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Joe Gomez<\/a> has also been deployed as a full-back several times this season, and it wouldn\u2019t be a complete shock to see the Englishman deployed there again in games in which Liverpool are seeking a stronger, more solid back line.<\/p>\n<p>Slot has a hard decision on his hands, but he will hope that a battle for the starting spot will push both Bradley and Frimpong to new heights and that the pair\u2019s good performances continue.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Liverpool continued their unbeaten run with a 2-2 draw away at Fulham on Sunday afternoon.
