Crews had been rushing to an\u00a0incident in Islington around 10pm on Saturday when the collision unfolded in\u00a0Farringdon.<\/p>\n
Images of the crash show the extent of the damage done to both appliances, including smashed windscreens and a broken bonnet.\u00a0<\/p>\n
It is not yet known how severe their injuries are.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The London Fire Brigade and the\u00a0Metropolitan Police are investigating the\u00a0circumstances around the accident.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Assistant Commissioner Pat Goulbourne said: ‘At around 2217 on 3 January 2026, a fire engine was involved in a collision with another fire engine at the junction of Farringdon Road on Clerkenwell Road.<\/p>\n
‘Six crew members were involved in the collision and were taken to hospital for checks by the London Ambulance Service.<\/p>\n

‘The fire engines were both responding to an incident in Islington which has been resolved.<\/p>\n
‘The circumstances surrounding the collision are under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.’<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, a London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: ‘We were called at 10.09pm on Saturday 3 January to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of Farringdon Road and Clerkenwell Road, EC1M.<\/p>\n
‘We sent resources to the scene including ambulance crews, advanced paramedics, an incident response officer and paramedics from our hazardous area response team (HART).<\/p>\n
‘We treated six patients and took them to hospital.’<\/p>\n
