The UK will continue to struggle against snow and ice warnings as an arctic airmass forecast promises to cause further disruption as schools prepare to return from the Christmas<\/a> break.<\/p>\n Hundreds of schools have already been impacted by the bad weather<\/a>, with many being shut after heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures across the country.<\/p>\n The Met Office has issued further weather warnings for Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England for Tuesday, with the worst-affected areas warned of travel delays<\/a>, power cuts and ‘impassable pavements’ until Wednesday. The North East and East of England is blanketed by a snow and ice warning, with the weather service predicting: “Scattered snow showers and icy patches<\/a> have the potential to cause disruption to travel in places on Monday into Tuesday morning.”<\/p>\n The same warning is issued for a region spanning from Cornwall to Plymouth and covering Wales’ west coast. Meanwhile, in Northern Ireland, “ice formation on untreated surfaces is likely to cause impacts in places on Monday evening, and overnight into Tuesday morning,” according to the Met Office.<\/p>\n Two separate warnings are issued across the whole of Scotland, with the first one also stretching down into England, covering Leeds, stating “Snow and ice may cause some disruption on Tuesday morning, particularly to travel.”<\/p>\n But, the regions north of Glasgow and Edinburgh, stretching into the Highlands, have been told that “snow and ice is likely to bring further disruption, particularly across central and northern mainland Scotland on Tuesday,” in a weather warning which runs until Wednesday midnight.<\/p>\n![\"Car](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/0_Car-buried-under-deep-snow-after-heavy-snowfall.jpg\")
