Anne MacDougall, 86, went viral after a clip of her jumping on a bar and dancing during New Year’s Day celebrations was posted on TikTok by her granddaughter.<\/p>\n

A “proud Glasgow<\/a> gran” has gone viral on social media after she was filmed dancing on top of a table in a bar in Fife. Anne MacDougall decided to jump on a table at the 19th Hole pub in Elie, Fife, while out celebrating on New Year’s Day.<\/p>\n

The 86-year-old, who has lived in the city’s southside<\/a> all her life, can be seen in the video being helped on top of the bar with Proclaimers’ classic I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) belting out in the background. Anne then busts out some moves on top of the bar, while punters sing and clap along.<\/p>\n

According to her granddaughter, Cara, age is just a number for fun-loving Anne, who has three sons and six grandchildren, as she still attends the gym and Pilates and can even do the splits.<\/p>\n

Cara told Glasgow Live: “She\u2019s a proud Glasgow-born gran who\u2019s always loved a laugh, and people online are calling her an inspiration and saying they hope they\u2019re ‘just like her at 86’.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s turned into a really heart-warming<\/a> moment about ageing, joy and living life to the fullest.<\/p>\n

“The video was taken on New Year\u2019s Day at the 19th Hole pub in Elie, when she decided to jump up on the table and have a dance. Anne has always led a very active lifestyle and has been passionate about sport for as long as I can remember, especially curling.<\/p>\n

“She was part of a team that won the Senior World Curling Championships. Since retiring from competitive curling, she\u2019s continued to curl and travel all over the world through the sport – and she\u2019s never slowed down.<\/p>\n

“Even now, she goes to Pilates or the gym regularly and keeps herself incredibly active. She can even do the splits!<\/p>\n

“Despite having two artificial hips, absolutely nothing stops her, she just loves life and making the most of every moment, which is exactly what the video shows.”<\/p>\n

Cara posted the clip to TikTok and it has since gone viral, with more than 37,000 likes, 300,000 views and hundreds of comments, all in admiration of Anne.<\/p>\n

One person said: This is proof you never get old. It’s a state of mind. Gowan lady, you beautiful legend.”<\/p>\n

Another added: “I’ve never had so much respect for a stranger dancing on a bar.”<\/p>\n

A third commented: “I’m obsessed, she’s an icon.”<\/p>\n

And a fourth commented: “I think this is brilliant.
