A new ice warning<\/a> is expected to bring further disruption across the north as more than 180 schools remained closed on Tuesday amid lingering wintry conditions. <\/p>\n

The latest yellow alert issued by the Met Office<\/a> comes into effect from 6pm on Tuesday and is due to remain in place until 11am on Wednesday. <\/p>\n

The weather forecaster has advised that \u201cclearing skies and scattered wintry showers\u201d will bring \u201cicy patches and some disruption\u201d. <\/p>\n

\u201cAfter a less cold day than recently, clearing skies and a scattering of wintry showers from this evening will once again bring an ice risk overnight, especially on untreated surfaces,\u201d a Met Office spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

\u201cShowers may give a fresh dusting so snow in a few places.\u201d<\/p>\n

The fresh yellow warning comes as the previous alert ended at 10am on Tuesday. <\/p>\n

Cold weather to start the year has brought disruption across the north, with icy driving conditions and snow impacting travel and resulting in school closures. <\/p>\n

On Monday, more than 200 schools were closed and a double-decker bus which is used to transport pupils slid off the road. <\/p>\n
