Leeds are experiencing a few hiccups in the transfer market this month.<\/strong><\/p>\n

One rumoured target in Raheem Sterling prefers a move to Fulham<\/a> over West Ham or Elland Road<\/a>, while the Hammers have already signed Taty Castellanos<\/a> from Lazio \u2013 a player Leeds<\/a> were keen on acquiring.<\/p>\n

Gonzalo Garcia was another option Leeds hoped to land \u2013 but Xabi Alonso has now told the 49ers<\/a> to forget about it, according to TEAMtalk<\/a>.<\/p>\n

TEAMtalk state that Leeds were preparing to offer \u00a317m for the Spain U21 international this month after missing out on his signature over the summer.<\/p>\n

A deal seemed possible as Real Madrid had Kylian Mbappe and Endrick to select for just one central forward spot, although Leeds have now been told to move on completely due to a change in scenario.<\/p>\n

Endrick has recently been loaned to Lyon, and Garcia was therefore able to score a stunning hat-trick in a 5-1 win over Real Betis on Sunday with Mbappe sidelined due to injury.<\/p>\n

TEAMtalk say Alonso has now decided to keep the 21-year-old around, telling Leeds, Sunderland and also VfB Stuttgart to look elsewhere as the Real Madrid No.16 announces himself at the Santiago Bernabeu. <\/p>\n

Leeds do need another striker, but there is no point spending a large chunk of cash to get one \u2013 especially as the Daily Mail say there is only a \u00a325m budget<\/a> to play with.<\/p>\n

Farke just needs somebody who is happy to sit on the bench and act as a deputy for Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha, who have performed admirably for Leeds this season after both arriving on free transfers during the summer.<\/p>\n

The only problem is the pair are quite prone to injuries<\/a>, and with Joel Piroe clearly not trusted<\/a> at Premier League level, Leeds need one more striker to help ease the workload on Calvert-Lewin and Nmecha.<\/p>\n

Therefore, spending \u00a317m on a top talent from Real Madrid would make little sense, so Alonso telling the 49ers to move on may well be a blessing in disguise. <\/p>\n
