{"id":678524,"date":"2026-01-06T21:39:16","date_gmt":"2026-01-06T21:39:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/678524\/"},"modified":"2026-01-06T21:39:16","modified_gmt":"2026-01-06T21:39:16","slug":"keir-starmer-set-to-unveil-brexit-betrayal-bill-to-hand-power-to-eu-without-any-say-from-british-voters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/678524\/","title":{"rendered":"Keir Starmer set to unveil \u2018Brexit Betrayal Bill\u2019 to hand power to EU without any say from British voters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sir Keir Starmer is preparing to unveil new Brexit legislation that would hand power back to Brussels without needing a vote from MPs or the public.<\/p>\n<p>The Prime Minister is expected to announce the UK will pursue \u201cdynamic alignment\u201d with the EU under Sir Keir\u2019s \u201creset\u201d with Brussels.<\/p>\n<p>No10 hopes the deal will underpin the UK\u2019s relationship with the EU after Brussels struck an accord on food standards with Labour last year.<\/p>\n<p>However, pursuing \u201cdynamic alignment\u201d would mean the UK is bound by EU rules on any issues included in negotiations.<\/p>\n<p>Brexiteers warn such a concession would mark the first loss of UK sovereignty on standards since Britain\u2019s departure from the EU.<\/p>\n<p>Despite Britain voting to leave the EU in 2016, such an arrangement would also remove any process of parliamentary or public consent on individual areas subject to \u201cdynamic alignment\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Shadow Foreign Secretary Dame Priti Patel said Labour\u2019s \u201cBrexit betrayal\u201d was \u201cbecoming clearer by the day\u201d and accused Sir Keir of \u201ctrying to undo the democratic decision of the British people\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>However, a Labour source said: \u201cThe bill will give us the powers to share rules with the EU. All international agreements involve shared rules.
