Amanda Holden has admitted to feeling “heartbroken” after completing her latest BBC renovation project alongside Alan Carr, describing the Corfu property as the most challenging they have ever undertaken. <\/p>\n

The 54-year-old Britain\u2019s Got Talent judge said the Greek home was the hardest to leave of all their makeovers to date.<\/p>\n

Ms Holden and her 49-year-old co-presenter have now transformed four properties across Europe as part of their popular renovation series.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Woman magazine, the pair revealed the Corfu property was in a dire state when they first acquired it.<\/p>\n

“We’re always heartbroken when we leave, but this was the worst one to leave,” Ms Holden said.<\/p>\n

Mr Carr disclosed that the building was missing basic features including staircases, flooring and windows when they first stepped inside.<\/p>\n

“It had a poo,” he joked, adding that what initially appeared to be blood was in fact red paint.<\/p>\n

The Celebrity Traitors winner admitted that despite improving their practical skills over four series together, the Greek project left him feeling overwhelmed.<\/p>\n

“What makes this one really special is that even though we’re getting better at DIY, when we saw the state of the house at the beginning my heart genuinely sunk,” Mr Carr said.<\/p>\n

He added that the final transformation was “mind-blowing”.<\/p>\n

Mr Carr told Woman magazine that each series requires them to push themselves further to keep viewers engaged.<\/p>\n

“This year, we put up a floating bed that was completely out of my comfort zone, but I can’t pretend I don’t know what a hammer is anymore,” he said.<\/p>\n

The presenting duo chose Greece as their latest destination due to their shared love of the country.<\/p>\n

Ms Holden revealed that she travels to Greece every year with her husband Chris Hughes and their two daughters, Lexi, 19, and Hollie, 13.<\/p>\n

“As a country we love it. I holiday there every year, Alan and I have holidayed there,” she told the BBC.<\/p>\n

The Heart Radio presenter said the project initially felt like wishful thinking rather than a genuine possibility.<\/p>\n

“We were fantasising, saying, oh, wouldn’t it be amazing if we could do a show in Greece,” she said.<\/p>\n

“We never actually thought it would be a reality.”<\/p>\n

The series follows previous renovations in Sicily, northern Tuscany and Andalusia, with proceeds from their first Italian property sale shared between Children in Need and Comic Relief.<\/p>\n

The third episode of the series delivered an unexpected comedic highlight when the pair visited a water park.<\/p>\n

Ms Holden persuaded Mr Carr to attempt a slide called The Black Hole, warning him it would be pitch black inside.<\/p>\n

“That sounds awful!” he replied.<\/p>\n

Mr Carr was later seen asking a lifeguard to “pray for him” before being flipped head over heels and ejected from a rubber ring mid-slide.<\/p>\n

The clip has since gone viral on social media, with viewers branding it the television moment of 2026 despite the year being less than a week old.<\/p>\n

One viewer wrote on X: “I know it’s only January 5th but Alan Carr falling out of a rubber ring on a water slide is TV moment of the year.”<\/p>\n

Ms Holden has said each location featured in their renovation series sees a noticeable rise in tourism after broadcast.<\/p>\n

“In Sicily, everyone was buying one-euro houses,” she noted.<\/p>\n

“This is absolutely the truth, wherever we go every year, the tourism goes up,” Ms Holden said.<\/p>\n
