A cafe on North Street in Bedminster<\/a> has announced its closing its doors for good this weekend.<\/p>\n

Nook<\/a>, which formerly had another branch in Knowle but closed this at the start of 2024<\/a>, posted a message to its social media pages, to say: “Nook will be closing after 2.5 years of service in the Bedminster community.<\/p>\n

“Unfortunately with the current economy, ever rising costs for hospitality businesses and super-tight profit margins the cafe is simply not financially viable to continue trading.<\/p>\n

“I’d like to thank our local Bedminster customers and our super amazing team at the Bristol cafe.<\/p>\n

“The current team will be transferring to our Bath cafe and pursuing their own new adventures.<\/p>\n

“Our Bath cafe is thriving and will be extending its opening hours until 5pm from May. So that’s 8.30am-5pm Monday-Sunday.<\/p>\n

“We will also be having summer residency in Frome at Station Approach from May-September in our horse trailer\/smoothie box.”<\/p>\n

It went on to say that cafes<\/a> and hospitality businesses on the look out for second-hand equipment and furniture can contact the team at Nook, who will be selling their second hand wares in the first week of May.<\/p>\n

Nook is described as serving up “healthy, nourishing food and drink influenced by the flavours of Aussie beach food”.<\/p>\n

The menu includes things like cold press juices, poke bowls, superfood smoothies, acai bowls, buddha bowls, sweet treats, and coffee.<\/p>\n

Its Bath cafe is located on Bond Street, and the whole concept of Nook was dreamed up while ‘sitting on a beach in Byron Bay eating poke bowls and drinking cold press juice in the early Aussie summer months of 2018’.<\/p>\n

The vision was to create a place that sold all of the healthy, wholesome and colourful food that these cafes had to offer.<\/p>\n

According to the cafe’s origin story on its website<\/a>, the influence “goes even deeper” with Californian and Japanese flavours, too.<\/p>\n

What’s more, the cafe is entirely gluten free, mostly dairy free, and boasts plenty of options for plant based and vegan lifestyles.<\/p>\n

One reviewer gave it five stars, writing: “Visited a year ago during my month long trip to the UK and I must say it was a safe haven!<\/p>\n

“For someone who has dietary restrictions they\u2019re adept at recommending what I could eat, and the choices are delectable as well.<\/p>\n

“Their green smoothie is a life saver, as well as their ginger shots when I got the sniffles.<\/p>\n

“They have this banana bread that you can put maple syrup on that\u2019s such a sweet wholesome treat.<\/p>\n

“The staff are so very helpful and I miss everything about the place.
