Prince William and Kate Middleton skipped the royal family\u2019s annual Easter celebration this year, and\u2014in case you missed it\u2014the palace took the decision extremely personally.<\/p>\n

Like, a source straight-up went to Us Weekly<\/a> and said \u201cThis is a big deal. It\u2019s royal tradition for the family to attend this together. Everyone understood the family not attending last year when Kate was sick, but there\u2019s been a lot of raised eyebrows at the Palace about William\u2019s decision to skip again this year. It feels like a deliberate move and even a snub.\u201d<\/p>\n

I mean, Wills and Kate literally just wanted to spend Easter with their kids in private, but okay! Either way, King Charles was apparently cool with it\u2014despite the rest of the palace being the opposite of chill.<\/p>\n

“Usually they are there, and everyone loves seeing the little ones. This year they decided to have a quiet family Easter,” a source tells Vanity Fair<\/a>. “The king was fully supportive, and I think it is an example of William and Catherine doing things the way they want to and doing what works for them as a family.”<\/p>\n

The insider adds that spending time with their kids is priority number one for Wills and Kate, saying “They know with the children growing up and George about to start a new school, the family unit as it is will change a bit and they want to spend as much time together as they can. They love being in Norfolk, it\u2019s where they bond as a family and where they make very happy memories. It\u2019s their happy place and they love being there.”<\/p>\n

A “long-standing friend” of the pair also notes that “Like all couples, the relationship has ups and downs, but I would say they are stronger than ever, they are a very tight partnership. It\u2019s very clear that William is deeply in love with his wife, more than ever, and she is eternally grateful to him for the support he has given her this past year and how he has been with the children. He has shouldered a lot.”<\/p>\n
