{"id":679715,"date":"2026-01-07T10:33:15","date_gmt":"2026-01-07T10:33:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/679715\/"},"modified":"2026-01-07T10:33:15","modified_gmt":"2026-01-07T10:33:15","slug":"ipswich-lido-plan-will-unravel-if-work-does-not-start-soon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/679715\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Ipswich lido plan will unravel&#8217; if work does not start soon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The National Lottery Heritage Fund joined forces with Ipswich Borough Council and Fusion Lifestyle in an attempt to save the lido about eight years ago.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">It pledged \u00a33.8m to the project in 2018 and a further \u00a33m in 2023, while the local authority vowed to inject \u00a33.3m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Permission for the restoration was most recently approved in December 2024 and work was scheduled to start last year, with a view to the pool reopening this year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">But last summer the council said Fusion Lifestyle had been &#8220;unable to provide assurances about their financial position&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The authority said it raised concerns and brought &#8220;into question their ability to deliver the project&#8221;.
