{"id":679920,"date":"2026-01-07T12:40:11","date_gmt":"2026-01-07T12:40:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/679920\/"},"modified":"2026-01-07T12:40:11","modified_gmt":"2026-01-07T12:40:11","slug":"germanys-emissions-progress-stalls-amid-slow-climate-tech-adoption","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/679920\/","title":{"rendered":"Germany&#8217;s Emissions Progress Stalls Amid Slow Climate Tech Adoption"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"speakable\">Germany saw its carbon dioxide emissions drop by just 1.5% in 2025 from the previous year, amid slow uptake of climate-friendly technologies in buildings and transport, German energy think tank Agora Energiewende <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agora-energiewende.de\/aktuelles\/deutschland-verliert-tempo-beim-klimaschutz-waermepumpen-und-e-autos-holen-nur-langsam-auf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> in its annual report on Wednesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The pace of emissions reductions slowed down last year from 2024, and the cuts were less than half of those achieved in 2024, according to Agora Energiewende.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Germany still met its national annual emissions target last year, but Europe\u2019s biggest economy is losing momentum in climate protection, the think tank noted.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The main driver of emissions reductions in 2025 was lower output by energy-intensive industries, amid persistent weak demand\u2014which signals continued weakness in the German industry.
