Stoke City have confirmed a new player contract at the bet365 Stadium.<\/p>\n

Academy product Freddie Anderson has signed a new two-and-a-half year contract at the club.<\/p>\n

The 19-year-old defender, who scored on his full competitive debut for the Potters <\/a>in the Carabao Cup last season, has recently returned to the club from a successful loan at Cork City.<\/p>\n

He made 37 appearances for the League of Ireland club and helped them to reach the FAI Cup final.<\/p>\n

Anderson has since won his first caps for USA under-20s and, following a short break after the end of the Irish season in November, he has returned to training at Clayton Wood.<\/p>\n

He is one of the players closest to a breakthrough, alongside Nathan Lowe and Emre Tezgel, as well as Tommy Simkin.<\/p>\n

And, speaking last month<\/a>, Stoke boss Mark Robins said: \u201cWe\u2019ve got some really, really good, talented players in the academy.\u201d<\/p>\n
