Hidden away in one of Birmingham\u2019s historic railway arches, I love Attic Brew Co.\u2019s The Barrel Store<\/a>. Not just for its many \u201chop-forward pale ales and IPAs\u201d, or its unique project ageing various beers in red wine barrels, but also as the home of Birmingham\u2019s no-rules pizza outfit Deathrow Pizza<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

There are countless pizzerias in the Second City, but nobody\u2019s doing it like this. Because like this means \u2018your pizza, your way\u2019<\/strong>. Forget the purists who say the only slice should be a margherita slice using only real Italian ingredients. You can do whatever you like. And yeah, you can even add pineapple.<\/p>\n

At the do-it-your-way pizza, where \u2018no topping is taboo\u2019<\/strong>, you pick the base, you pick the sauce, you pick the cheese, and as many toppings as your heart desires. Better still, they all cost the same, no matter how much or what you add<\/strong> (just \u00a313.50). If that wasn\u2019t enough, it\u2019s 2 for 1 every Wednesday, too!<\/p>\n

So, if you want a BBQ sauce pizza topped with Stilton, goat\u2019s cheese, tuna, black olives and truffle oil<\/strong>, go for it! No ones going to top you here (although I can\u2019t stop people from side-eyeing you). And don\u2019t worry, there are all the ingredients to make a \u2018normal\u2019 pizza too, like pepperoni or a Hawaiian<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

So what\u2019s new with Deathrow Pizza?<\/b> <\/p>\n

This spring, Deathrow Pizza is expanding into South Birmingham<\/strong>. It\u2019s launching in Attic Brew Co.\u2019s award-winning taproom<\/a> with a brand new, custom-built kitchen and serving up pizzas six nights a week, with daytime service on Saturdays and Sundays<\/strong>\u2014and no one will still tell you how you have to have it.<\/p>\n
