Queen Camilla’s<\/a> actions were caught on camera during a royal engagement alongside the Swedish royals<\/a> at Windsor Castle. Her cheeky move came as the couple were planting a Swedish oak tree, gifted by the visiting royals.<\/p>\n

The 77-year-old Queen was filmed tapping King Charles<\/a> on the bottom twice in an apparent attempt to move him along during their tree planting ceremony, while he was busy chatting away.<\/p>\n

Camilla tried to interrupt the conversation between Charles and the Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf<\/a>. She tapped the monarch, turned away, and then tapped him again to regain his attention.<\/p>\n

GB News<\/a> reported a fan on social media had noted the interaction. The royal fan commented on X: “Camilla patting the royal tush.” The Queen’s gesture highlighted the strong relationship between the couple as they carried out their official duties.<\/p>\n

The Swedish Oak was a gift from the Scandinavian sovereign<\/a> to celebrate the British royals’ Coronation on May, 6, 2023<\/a>, two years on Tuesday. Quercus robur, to use its Latin name, is taking up residence in Home Park on the Windsor Estate.<\/p>\n

It has come from the Royal Nursery at Sollidan Palace, the Swedish Royal Family’s summer residence, and will be twinned with a Swedish oak which will be planted at the Royal Djurgarden in Stockholm.<\/p>\n

The two Kings used spades to plant the tree and the Queens were given a watering can each to finish off the job.<\/p>\n

Queen Silvia, 80, joined her husband for the ceremonial tree planting, continuing the long tradition of royal diplomacy through such symbolic acts.<\/p>\n

Tree planting, ribbon cutting and plaque unveiling are considered staple duties of ceremonial royal roles in both countries.<\/p>\n

Both Sweden and the the UK are governed by constitutional monarchies. The visit came the day after King Carl XVI Gustaf celebrated his 79th birthday on April 30<\/a> with a traditional military celebration at the Royal Palace in Stockholm.<\/p>\n

The Swedish monarch is the longest-reigning king in Swedish history. He became King in 1973 at the young age of 27.
