{"id":681180,"date":"2026-01-08T01:43:23","date_gmt":"2026-01-08T01:43:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/681180\/"},"modified":"2026-01-08T01:43:23","modified_gmt":"2026-01-08T01:43:23","slug":"day-fever-daytime-disco-at-york-barbican-on-14-february","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/681180\/","title":{"rendered":"Day Fever daytime disco at York Barbican on 14 February"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  Day Fever is becoming a cultural sensation since being launched in Sheffield in early 2024 and is heading to York next month.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  With more towns joining the waiting list to join the tour, the York date will be from Saturday 14 February at York Barbican, from 3pm until 8pm.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The event was created by actress Vicky McClure, filmmaker and broadcaster Jonny Owen, and Jon McClure, frontman of Reverend &amp; The Makers, alongside his brother Chris McClure and Sheffield businessman James O\u2019Hara.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   width=\"100%\"\/>DAY FEVER founders, L-R, Jon McClure, James O&#8217;Hara, Jonny Owen, Vicky McClure and Chris McClure.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  From its debut in Sheffield\u2019s City Hall Ballroom to a tour, Day Fever has seen thousands around the UK hit the dancefloor each month.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The organisers say the message is clear: people everywhere are craving a space to let loose, laugh, and dance, all before 8pm.\n<\/p>\n<p>  Recommended Reads:<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cIt started as a WhatsApp idea,\u201d said Jon McClure. \u201cJonny just said, \u2018A daytime disco, how good would that be?\u2019 We\u2019re all a bit nuts, so we just said, \u2018Come on then!\u2019\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Vicky said: \u201cIt feels like a massive house party at your nan\u2019s. No drama, no egos, just people acting daft, getting dressed up, and having the best time.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  They say there\u2019s no dress code, no pressure, and the hangover is optional &#8211; &#8216;just wall-to-wall feel-good tunes and an open invitation to dance like nobody\u2019s watching&#8217;.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Every Day Fever event has its own flavour. Local DJs who know their crowds keep the energy high with a nostalgic mix of Northern Soul, disco, indie, and 90s classics.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Jon said: \u201cManchester goes mad for Oasis and if Vicky\u2019s there, we have to play Whitney, it\u2019s non-negotiable!\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   width=\"100%\"\/>Day Fever will be at York Barbican on Saturday 14 February\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Venues are also reaping the rewards from Day Fever too.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Vicky said: \u201cClubs double their takings. We\u2019re out by 8pm, and then they\u2019ve got a full night to run. It\u2019s been a game-changer.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  And it\u2019s striking a chord beyond the dancefloor.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cWe\u2019ve had people in remission, people grieving, people celebrating life,\u201d said Jon. \u201cIt\u2019s mothers and daughters, old mates, and whole families dancing together.
