{"id":681909,"date":"2026-01-08T09:34:13","date_gmt":"2026-01-08T09:34:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/681909\/"},"modified":"2026-01-08T09:34:13","modified_gmt":"2026-01-08T09:34:13","slug":"trade-union-in-fresh-plea-to-clean-up-glasgows-lanes-and-side-streets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/681909\/","title":{"rendered":"Trade union in fresh plea to clean up Glasgow\u2019s lanes and side streets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  It comes after the trade union launched its Reclaim the Lanes in October which calls for stricter enforcement to ensure shops, restaurants, takeaways and other businesses keep rubbish from recurring and have it lifted quickly.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  They hope that if the lanes are cleaned up it will open up other opportunities for businesses to create more destinations with a vibe similar to that of Ashton Lane.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Chris says the situation has gotten worse over the Christmas and New Year period.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  He said: \u201cI have never seen anything like it. There needs to be discussions on this because this can\u2019t continue.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cSome of these lanes are right behind popular destinations like The Pavilion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heraldscotland.com\/topics\/theatre\/?ref=au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Theatre<\/a>. People are going to the theatre not realising what is behind it.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cIt is just terrible. The situation has gotten worse over Christmas and New Years.
