HBO Max is seeking major distribution deals as it rolls out to big European territories and the streamer has struck in Germany with RTL+.<\/p>\n
RTL+\u00a0and HBO Max\u00a0will offer customers\u00a0a bundle that combines both services under a single subscription\u00a0when\u00a0HBO Max\u00a0launches\u00a0in Germany\u00a0in just five days\u2019 time. RTL\u2019s media sales house Ad Alliance already handles ad sales for the Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) streamer.<\/p>\n
More from Deadline<\/strong><\/p>\n The offer brings together HBO\u2019s big hitters like The White Lotus, The Last of Us and House of the Dragon with RTL\u2019s local fare including Neue\u00a0Geschichten\u00a0vom\u00a0Pumuckl, Make Love, Fake Love and coverage of\u00a0UEFA\u00a0Europa League soccer. HBO is also making German originals for the streamer like Banksters and 4 Blocks prequel 4 Blocks Zero.<\/p>\n Customers can buy an HBO Max Basic\u00a0with\u00a0Ads and RTL+ Premium\u00a0bundle\u00a0for\u00a0\u20ac11.99 ($14) per month or\u00a0\u00a0HBO Max Standard and RTL+ Premium Werbefrei\u00a0bundle, which\u00a0is\u00a0also\u00a0available\u00a0for\u00a0\u20ac17.99 per\u00a0month. Both several several euros per month.<\/p>\n HBO has last mover disadvantage when it comes to launching in certain territories like Germany, the UK and Italy, although HBO has previously indicated that it can learn from other launches. A long-running deal with Sky has prevented the streamer from launching in these nations until this year. <\/a>Distribution will therefore be a major factor in HBO Max\u2019s success. Sky and Now customers will get bundled access to HBO Max once it launches in the UK and Ireland in March.
