It seems British holidaymakers are searching for sun, sea and sand this year as parts of Spain dominate bookings for 2026.<\/p>\n

New data from easyJet found Mallorca, Tenerife and Alicante were the most booked destinations on Sunshine Saturday – a huge day for travel booking which fell on January 3.<\/p>\n

The most popular duration was seven nights, with the majority of people favouring four- and five-star hotels. Mallorca was the top booked destination overall, with the bulk of bookers choosing to fly here from Belfast and London airports. <\/p>\n

Tenerife and Alicante followed as the next two top locations, and holidaymakers from Manchester and Scotland Airports were the biggest fans of the Canary Islands. Egypt\u2019s Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh came in the fourth and fifth spots. <\/p>\n

The UK’s top choice comes as no surprise; Spain has long been a popular holiday destination thanks to its beautiful beaches, warm weather, affordability and proximity to the UK. <\/p>\n

Mallorca is a beautiful island with white, sandy coasts, fresh dining options and an authentic centre, where visitors can see iconic sights such as Catedral-Bas\u00edlica de Santa Mar\u00eda de Mallorca.<\/p>\n

The Canary Islands, such as Tenerife, are also a great pick as they are generally the warmest part of Spain year-round, so holidaymakers searching for sun close to home towards the start of the year are in luck. <\/p>\n
