He didn&#8217;t play last year after having hand surgery.<\/p>\n<p>Editor&#8217;s Picks<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a name=\"&amp;lpos=story:editorspicks:inline:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/golf\/story\/_\/id\/40632405\/scottie-scheffler-golf-career-pga-tour-wins-more-titles\" class=\"img-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/r1368333_1296x1296_1-1.jpg&#038;w=130&#038;h=130&#038;scale=crop&#038;location=center.jpeg\" width=\"65\" height=\"65\"\/><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The tournament, to be held Jan. 22-25, will be the second of the year on the PGA Tour following next week&#8217;s Sony Open in Hawaii. The usual opener, The Sentry, was canceled in October due to course conditions at water-deprived Kapalua.<\/p>\n<p>Several big names already are in the AmEx field, including <a data-player-guid=\"718b2cd9-49cb-f723-4c03-eda264da3e1a\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/golf\/player\/_\/id\/441914\/akshay-bhatia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Akshay Bhatia<\/a>, <a data-player-guid=\"330cbcb2-636c-8729-3c1f-829c82011df9\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/golf\/player\/_\/id\/3702\/rickie-fowler\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rickie Fowler<\/a>, defending champion <a data-player-guid=\"7d66c751-33af-9c89-a201-8edc63e2ef75\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/golf\/player\/_\/id\/8961\/sepp-straka\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sepp Straka<\/a> and up-and-coming star <a data-player-guid=\"619eba4f-2368-31ca-9d12-8912a6450d21\" href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/golf\/player\/_\/id\/521503\/luke-clanton\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Luke Clanton<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Scheffler also has committed to the WM Phoenix Open on Feb. 5-8, tournament officials said Wednesday night. He won there in 2022 and &#8217;23, with the former his first PGA Tour victory.<\/p>\n<p>Scheffler is coming off another remarkable season, winning six times in 20 starts, including the PGA Championship and Open Championship.
