The Backroad FF Rival XPLR AXS\u00a0gravel race bike is available now for \u00a33,500, with a small range of Rose cycling apparel also set to launch on its UK website soon.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" typeof=\"foaf:Image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/screenshot-2026-01-08-112123.png\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"lazyload\" itemprop=\"image\" width=\"970\" height=\"648\" alt=\"2026 Rose Backroad Rival XPLR AXS gravel bike\" title=\"2026 Rose Backroad Rival XPLR AXS gravel bike\"\/>2026 Rose Backroad Rival XPLR AXS gravel bike (credit: Rose bikes)<\/p>\n<p>Rose is a\u00a0German direct-to-consumer brand. It stopped sales and shipping to the UK in 2020, citing the lack of a Free Trade Agreement after Brexit and the UK legal requirement for bikes to have a right-hand front brake.<\/p>\n<p>Rose\u2019s international website still displays this Brexit notice: &#8220;Because of Brexit, we are immediately ceasing shipment of orders to the UK&#8230; If we are able to find an alternative solution through the free-trade agreement, we will inform you here.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>However, its\u00a0UK website now\u00a0states, &#8220;We&#8217;re back in the UK&#8221;, a somewhat contradictory\u00a0stance.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" typeof=\"foaf:Image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/screenshot-2026-01-08-111836.png\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"lazyload\" itemprop=\"image\" width=\"970\" height=\"540\" alt=\"2026 Rose Backroad Rival XPLR AXS gravel bike bars\" title=\"2026 Rose Backroad Rival XPLR AXS gravel bike bars\"\/>2026 Rose Backroad Rival XPLR AXS gravel bike bars (credit: Rose bikes)<\/p>\n<p>Currently, the only bike in the range is the\u00a0Backroad FF Rival XPLR AXS including power meter,\u00a0available now for \u00a33,500. It features Rose G30 wheels wrapped in Schwalbe G-One\u00a0R Performance 40mm tyres, with space for up to 45mm rubber and has a claimed weight of 8.3\u202fkg. It&#8217;s currently\u00a0offered\u00a0in three colours, though additional colourways feature on the Rose website.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For comparison, the Ribble\u00a0Ultra-Grit Rival\u00a0XPLR AXS\u00a0costs \u00a33,099, also with alloy wheels and\u00a0Schwalbe G-One R tyres, but up to 50mm of tyre clearance.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" typeof=\"foaf:Image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/screenshot-2026-01-08-112028.png\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"lazyload\" itemprop=\"image\" width=\"970\" height=\"484\" alt=\"2026 Rose Backroad Rival XPLR AXS gravel bike handlebar\" title=\"2026 Rose Backroad Rival XPLR AXS gravel bike handlebar\"\/>2026 Rose Backroad Rival XPLR AXS gravel bike handlebar (credit: Rose bikes)<\/p>\n<p>The last Rose bike we reviewed was the <a href=\"http:\/\/road.cc\/content\/review\/rose-backroad-grx-rx810-276217\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Backroad GRX RX810 <\/a>in 2020 which impressed us with its stiffness and responsiveness, performing just as well on the road as it did off.<\/p>\n<p>Gravel bikes aren\u2019t all the same. Some are designed for stability on loaded adventures and bikepacking, while others prioritise speed and performance. The Backroad has always fallen into the performance camp, and that remains true today, with what appears to be an aero-focused frame, D-shaped seatpost, and integrated bar and stem.
